New member of the DIY Club!

Finally, I can say I am part of the "DIY Club".
Except, honestly I am part of the "DIYWMMH Club",
which translates into-Do It Yourself- With My Mom's Help Club.

A couple of months ago, I found this sad, lonely, ugly chair at a garage sale.
I thought she had potential, and I had a vision.

And remember, I am currently obsessed with the chevron pattern.
I scrubbed the chair clean with TSP, and sanded it.

Then I grabbed my black spray paint, did a little dance for good luck....

I could not wait to post this, so I did not include the pictures
of my Mom doing all of the sewing that she did.
She really did the hardest part.
I have to credit  my kick-butt Momma, for the beauty of this chair!

Without the fab job she did sewing the pad, and the cushion, and the lumbar pillow,
it would not look nearly as great!

We bought 5 inch foam for the bottom cushion,
and used fiber-fill for the back pad.
My Dad helped too!  He replaced the seat with new plywood to make it more sturdy.
It truly was a family affair.

Of course, my kids are all over it, already...... little rascals.

Now, I just have to find a place to put it!

So, what do you think?
Should I keep this up?
Do you think I can convince my parents to help with a
fabric covered headboard?
That's next on my list.

So you're wondering where to put that lovely chair? How about 50 Winnebago Circle? We'd provide a loving home, to be sure! It turned out great! Nice work! Cannot wait to see the headboard!

Your newly adopted chair turned out amazing. You found a lonely chair sitting all alone that needed some love. You adopted it just like you wanted to do with (Ponijao).
So you began to add layers of love, nuturing, feeding, and clothing this sad chair.I am sure Papa, Nana will also admire thier work as well. The new life you gave (Chevron) will live on in a great home.
I am sure Tatum and Turner will give Chevron lots of love and hugs. Enjoy your new addition to your home.
