It's coming along....

When we got back from Turner's well check today,
I had a house full of sunshine!
I decided to take advantage of the light and
snap some pics of one of my favorite
parts of the house.

My Dad built this cabinet for my Mom a few
years back.  It was a center island in her kitchen,
but it didn't work for them and was in their basement
collecting dust.

When we moved into the new place, I asked
if I could have it.

 Isn't it perfect?
It wasn't, it had gold hardware
and rather than replace the hardware,
we spray painted it when we were on a kick of
spray painting the other night!

And it makes me love it even more.
Then I just grabbed stuff that I had around the house
and made the colors coordinate.

The mirror comes from Home Goods, and it
was on clearance for $29, so I think that's pretty good
especially when you have a gift card.

I wanted to make it like the bar area I did in my recent decor project.
Just a bit more kid friendly!

What do you think?
Are you loving the sunshine today?
I sure am!

I love it!!! And I am not loving the sunshine, we are cloudy here in WA with snow and freezing rain.

Two comments- one, your dad has talent, and two, if they have anything else cute like that collecting dust, I'll take it!

Looks great.

Yes! That is dust on the floor! Gotta be more careful when I take pics.

And Nicole, I wish the clear hair was from the spray paint...:)

Ooh- I LOVE it! Does he take orders? I'm telling you I need to enlist you for my DIY project of recovering my dining room chairs. Ugh! I'm such a chicken when it comes to doing that stuff!

I love that piece and who couldn't use a little more stylish storage? You've "accessorized" it well!
