The day that I found out I was having a little girl
was one of my favorite days ever.
I'm one of those girls that was fine with whatever
gender of kids I got, but there had to be a girl in the mix!
Little girls are so fun to be "girls" with, to shop with,
to do their hair, the whole nine yards.
HOWEVER......if you don't have a 3 year old girl,
this is what you are missing in your household.
They tend to be a little dramatic.
They tend to be a little particular.
They tend to switch moods very quickly.
Doesn't this sound like a woman with major PMS?
Besides the aforementioned behaviors ....she likes to change her clothes,
her outfits, a lot.
So, I find clothes on the floor, in her room, in my room, in
her brother's room, in the closet, in the toy boxes, and our
bathroom floor.
Let me enlighten you with two,
recent conversations with little Miss Sassy.
This morning...
Brandon: Tatum, you left your scarf on the bathroom floor, go pick it up,
Okay?
Tatum: THAT IS NOT A SCARF, DADDY...it's a cowl, GOSHl!!
{Brandon just looks at me with his mouth open. He is in shock, he
doesn't hear this stuff all day long. He's all....what? Did she just say that?}
Tonite, while I was cooking dinner
{Meatloaf with fingerling potatoes, yep!}...
Me: Tatum, please pick up your dress-up dress, I'm trying to
cook dinner, okay?
Tatum: YOU ARE A MEAN MOMMY,
YOU DON'T TALK TO
ME LIKE THAT!!!
I DON'T LIKE YOU ANYMORE.
YOU ARE BAD!!!!
And after three minutes on her naughty stool for
punishment...she hopped off, beaming from
ear to ear, with tears still on her face and says,
"I love you all the day, Mommy."
Seriously?
One thing I have learned as a parent,
you can't stay mad at your child for long,
especially when they are so darn cute.
Oh, the drama....
Cute :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, sounds familiar. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like our house... Even though Ethan's only 4 his "I know more than you attitude" and my point of view of said attitude, reminds me of the challenging times between me and my parents while growing up. Oh the wisdom... if he only knew, that I KNOW, just like my parents did. "Oh the drama" is right!
ReplyDeleteThat Sassy Granddaughter makes me smile....
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing her sassy self... Hmmm it must the Cartmill in her and Ellie....
that is adorable. i dont have any kids yet, but when i do, they will have to learn quickly: just because mommy is laughing doesnt mean you wont get punished. ha! i love sassy little girls :)
ReplyDeleteI'm dying. Come on. What a perfect portrait of a sweet, sassy girl. What's not to love?! That first photo is precious. Gorgeous. Where was that taken. Even the floor is awesome.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
