Thumbin' through my Mom's latest copy of
"House Beautiful" magazine.
I bout' died when I saw the ad for
LA Plates, you can find them at:
www.laplates.com
They are personalized, melamine plates.
I'm thinking I need a set,
or maybe ten sets, cuz I can't decide on which
font, or which background, or color I want!
They are absolutely, positively, the kind of product, that makes me say...
SO STINKIN' CUTE!!!!
And I love them....I love, I love, I love,
or should I sing...Your Love, Your Love, Your Love is my drug,
like the annoying Ke$ha song that I love to blast in my mini-van!
I mean, who is this girl?
The first time I hear any of her songs, I think she is crazy!
Then, I hear it again, and I am blasting it and singing it out loud.
That girl has it down...and she is a marketing genius.
I went to the Children's Museum yesterday with a friend and our kiddos...
It was really fun and I noticed something on all of the mommies.
Part of the typical baby gear ensemble is to
wear your SLR camera on a strap around your neck.
I know they are getting excellent pics of their kiddos in action...
and that's when I realized, I would add two pieces of technology to my
must have list of favorite things:
I want this...
The Flip Camera...for taking videos...does anyone have this?
More importantly, do you love it?
Let me know...
And...
A SLR digital camera...
for those of you lucky ducks that already own one,
which is better and why?
Poor Branmuffin, my list of things I want just gets longer everyday!
I better start making some money myself!
Oh, one more technology question...
Mac or PC...tell me if I should make the switch to Mac!
Stay tuned...for my Fairy Godmother of Health and Wellness...
....and, I will reveal my stressful secret sometime in June....
Toodles..
Not to sound like a techy dork (i am not that much into technology!) but we have both of the before mentioned cute kid capturing devices and i love them! the Flip is awesome for taking a few minute movie (which no one i know wants to watch a 30 minute kid movie anyway)of the cuteness going on and it is SUPER easy to share on email or FB. We got the slr camera mainly because i was so tired of paying $200 for kid portrates at a pro studio (Target) and not being satisfied with any of the snaps! why not buy a slr cam, and capture your kiddos with a great quality camera for the price of what you'd pay for a pro session. I've developed pictures from our slr in enlarged sizes and they turn out great! Our Flip will be on a certain lake trip in June : ).
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!!!!!!! Switch to a Mac and to a digital SLR. I bought my Mac laptop in Jan and love it! It takes a bit getting used to (whatever you did with right click or on the right side of the screen in now on the left). I would recommend buying the$99 One on One (? can't remember what it is called exactly but you can only buy it when you buy your Mac or within one week of purchase). You can go and take classes for a year and they will help you with ANYTHING. I have even had lessons with my digital SLR.
ReplyDeleteOn to that...I love my Digital Canon Rebel SLR...I have one of the first models so they have improved them immensely since 2004 and made them lighter. But I had a regular Canon SLR and could use my lenses on the new digital one. Since you are just starting out...the basic SLR will be great and trust me, it is enough megapixels for anyone who wants to make 11x14 and smaller with awesome quality!
Kellon has the flip video camera and seems to like it. You will have to hook up with him and ask him about the camera.. For a MAC or PC another question for your brother in-law. He is the techno dude. He says he would love to have a MAC, which is on his list below a car. You know he will be Masculine "16" soon...
ReplyDeleteI have the Canon Rebel SLR. I LOVE it!!! I will not have to pay a photographer ever again (except for family pics maybe). I think that is the same camera that Nealy uses. Anyway, it takes great pics!
ReplyDeleteYou know this family is Mac obsessed. We would never go back to a PC and have "converted" my entire family as well :)
ReplyDeleteRegarding the DSLR, we bought the Canon EOS Rebel Ti1 after LOTS of research. I couldn't be happier, every pic makes you look like a professional. It even has high def video which was important to us. I can fill you in on all of the details and differences b/t Canon & Nikon if you care to know them :) I think it could be a write off for you anyway....
By the way....speaking of obsession, can't get enough of Ke$ha's Tik Tok. Super catchy and the kiddos LOVE it too!
ReplyDeleteI am a self professed techie mom, it rubs off from having worked in recruiting nerds for years. I like a PC. Macs are cool in some ways but sheesh, retraining this old dog better be spend on things that will give me better pictures or better photoshop skills or at least a cleaner house. Here's the advice my girlfriend gave me about cameras. Either you're a Canon girl or a Nikon one. I got the Canon cuz she's a canon girl. (check out heaven's eye photography). I have a Canon Rebel Xsi. Perfect for me! THe neat thing is all the lenses fit all the cameras. It is still a lot of learning and I have been at it 9 months or so but am SO SO happy I converted. I still carry my point and shoot for video and quickie shots. I have found loads of great sites for learning about photography if you need help let me know!
ReplyDeleteI need more info on that camera!!! I think I need it too!
ReplyDeleteAs for the Mac, I adore mine. Never have any issues, it's SO reliable!
