  1. We are doing the Race for the Cure on Mother's Day. My mom is a 26 survivor, and my sister is a 1 year survivor. Mother's Day is also my mom's 60th birthday, so we have a lot to celebrate!

  2. Since I'm not sure about our plans for Sunday, I'll leave you a comment about my Mom. One of my favorite things about her is that she has truly embraced becoming a Nana to our boys. She supports me as a parent by never judging or giving too much advice. She helps me feel confident in my own abilities as a mom. I couldn't ask for a better friend.

  3. Surprisingly I won't be spending this Mother's Day with my Mom but I moved to Chicago to be closer to her 3 years ago and I have been able to spend a lot of time with her that I will cherish forever. We are going to Ireland together at the end of June, a dream of she has had for many years and I'm happy to help her fulfill this dream and excited to go too! Even though, I'm moving further away again, I'm committed to continue to spend as much time with her as I possibly can. I'm sure I picked up the strong work ethic from her, she was a nurse for 50 years and worked until she was 71..she is a great friend but even a better Mom.

  4. I will be spending part of my Mothers Day with my Mom. She & my Dad have been watching our 3 little ones for a week while Dave & I are on vacation in Mexico. She is an absolutely amazing woman and taught me that women can do anything!
She was the ONLY person who knew what I was going through when Dave and I moved to Duluth. I was 7 months pregnant and had 2 little girls, we had showings everyday while trying to sell our house and Dave was traveling non-stop. I am thankful everyday to have a role model like her. On top of all of that, she is a loving, compassionate Grandmother to her 10 grandchildren.

  5. My mom was the matriarch of her family. She was the head of the family. She was a mom and grandma respected by her family. She was one whom all turned to for advice and help. Her door was always open to all of our friends. If someone needed a place to sleep she found a place for them to sleep and feed them one of her amazing home cooked meals. She could make a meal out of whatever she found in the cupboard and freezer… Usually a meal of pasta because it would go far. I am proud to say that my son (Babers) also learned that trait from her too, he spent lots of time with his Grandma. Playing cards and chatting it up into the wee hours of the morning. She was a night owl… He would come home during college breaks and always made time for his Grandma my mom. She is missed by her family and not a day passes that I do not think of her… When you mom passes a piece of your heart goes with them… That was something she told me when my grandma passes. I was like ya right. But 5 years ago I found out the truth… I does really happen. So those of you who have your Mom cherish every moment you have with them and take lots of pictures for the memories you will treasure for your life time.

  8. Every year (since we moved away and no longer live by my mom) we go strawberry picking at a farm, and then head over for homemade pie and shortcake. It is simple and sweet and I love it.

    Those are too stinkin' cute!
